About Stoclear
A tool built from an investor's own process
Who I Am
I'm Huabing Liu, a Senior Technical Product Manager by profession. My work has always been about understanding complex problems, breaking them down, and building practical solutions.
I started investing in stocks with a simple goal: to grow my wealth and create more financial freedom.
But over time, investing became more than just buying stocks. I became fascinated by evaluating businesses: assessing their financial performance, economic moats, and ability to create long-term value.
I realised the hardest part was not finding information, but making sense of it and turning that understanding into a clear investment decision.
Why I Built Stoclear
Every investment decision came down to two questions: Is this a great business? And am I paying a fair price for it?
To answer these questions, I spent countless hours reading company reports, analysing financials, building spreadsheets, and creating my own frameworks.
I enjoyed the process, but I found the challenge was turning a large amount of information into a simple, consistent, and repeatable way to evaluate companies.
I started distilling company analysis into 12 key metrics that measure what matters most: business quality and price fairness. These metrics are combined into an overall investment rating.
That journey led me to build Stoclear: a tool based on my own investing process, designed to help investors better evaluate businesses and make clearer long-term investment decisions.
The Philosophy
Stoclear is built on a simple belief: great businesses bought at reasonable prices can lead to strong long-term returns. The scoring system evaluates companies across two dimensions and combines them into an overall investment rating:
Business Quality
Assessing the strength of the business through factors such as competitive advantages, margins, growth, and financial health.
Price Fairness
Assessing whether the current valuation provides a reasonable opportunity based on valuation metrics and potential upside.
Overall Rating
Combining these factors into a simple score to help investors quickly understand the investment opportunity.
Transparency
I believe investors should understand the reasoning behind an investment decision.
Stoclear does not rely on black boxes or hidden formulas. The methodology is based on fundamental investing principles and uses clear, understandable metrics that investors can review and verify themselves.
Stoclear is a tool, not financial advice. It is designed to support your research and thinking process, but every investor should make decisions based on their own goals, research, and risk tolerance.
